Our Board

Morgan Masner President Morgan was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2000 and came to HDC to learn how to manage his disease. Impressed with the education he received, he joined the board shortly after that. As a retired businessman, he has helped HDC create a strategic plan that will help the Center serve the growing diabetes population.

Robert F. Rice CLU President Emeritus Bob is the Managing Partner for Northwestern Mutual Financial Network. He has successfully lived with type 1 diabetes for more than 44 years and used HDC services for his training and initiation on the insulin pump. He has served on the board since 2000, and as President since 2004, has led the organization in developing a five-year strategic plan.

Robert Link Secretary/Treasurer As the father of a daughter with type 1 diabetes, Bob has a personal interest in helping HDC continue growing and serving the Treasure Valley. As Senior Vice President for Washington Federal Savings, he has been instrumental in keeping HDC financially stable during the past six years as the board Secretary/Treasurer.

Chris Nelson President Elect Chris joined the HDC board in 2000. He is hopeful that a cure for diabetes will be found soon since both his wife and young daughter have type 1 diabetes. His personal interest helped the Center create a research department in 2005.

Noreen Davis R.N., Senior Vice President Noreen is the Senior Vice President of Nursing and Patient Services for St. Luke's Health System. She serves as St. Luke's member representative on the HDC board.

Susan Gibson Susan is the Vice President of Mission Services and Human Resources at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. She serves as Saint Al's member representative on the HDC board

Leroy Cortez Leroy is an operations specialist for U.S. Bank and has been with the organization for 31 years. He has type 2 diabetes and has completed the self-management education classes at the Center. He has served on the board since 2004.

Carrie Guanell A retired registered nurse, Carrie has volunteered at HDC for 8 years and has served on the board since 2004. She has type 2 diabetes and understands the importance of diabetes education to effectively manage the disease for a long, healthy life.

Robert Montgomery MD With two sons with type 1 diabetes, Dr. Montgomery and his family have been involved with HDC from its beginning in 1987. Formally serving on the board since 1999, Dr. Montgomery has helped guide the Center's communication and marketing strategies for health care professionals and patients. A retired surgeon, he now works part-time as an instructor at the Family Medicine Residency.

Steve Nielsen Retired after 30 years as a Senior Vice President for United Heritage, Steve is now an active community volunteer. He has served on the board since 2001 and has been the lead member on the nominating committee.

Robert Seehusen Bob is the CEO of the Idaho Medical Association and has been involved with HDC almost since its inception in 1987. He has had type 1 diabetes for 42 years and understands the importance of good education in managing diabetes. With both his personal and professional knowledge of diabetes, Bob actively participates in program development at HDC.
